Sally and Scott Taylor rippin' up "Ain't no mountain high nuff" in video

The wedding band and party band for the new year!
Steppin' Out is NOT your usual Wedding or Bar Mitzvah Band. We are a
seven to nine piece special events band that will get your guests out of their seats
and on to the dance floor! We have a very large repertoire and can
play all of your requests.

Our goal is to make your event a success. We typically talk with our clients
up to six times before we perform. We can find time to meet, which most groups do not. you want your event to be successful, and so do we.

Here is a link to a few of our past executive clientele

Take a look! Our singer, Scott Taylor! Read his Bio!

Here's from Friday, April 11,2008. The lady who wrote this represents the I.A.A., a well known international investment organization. She felt that the agent that booked us for the job should know the following.....

Hi Robin-

I left a message for you yesterday saying I hadn't heard from the band.  I retract that completely!  You all had my office phone, and I hadn't checked messages there. The band leader had left a few.  My apologies!  Incidentally, they were absolutely AWESOME!  Talented, cooperative, and friendly. If I could bring them with me all over, I would.  In the meantime, I will let my contacts at this hotel know that Bialek's is the contractor to call!

Thank you for your help.
Lisa

May 6 at the MAYFLOWER!

May 6 wedding at the Mayflower garners a BEAUTIFUL thank you from the prestigious Washington D.C. event planning company, TDM Design, inc. (The letter is addressed to Ray Bialek, the agent for this date)

Hi Ray,

Just wanted to let you know Steppin' Out were FANTASTIC, Sally sounded great and the male singer is amazing, Scott was willing to please in every way. Great job!!!!!!

They sound so much better with horns. The party rocked last night, the dance floor was packed.

Enjoy today

Take Care Michelle

I will forward this to whoever wishes to see the original. What Michelle is referring to is that we added Bruce Swaim on Sax, who was in Danny Gatton's band before he passed and  Mary Chapin Carpenters video "Down at the Twist and Shout"

"Bride to Be" magazine covers our May 13 wedding!!

On Saturday, May 13, Steppin' Out was the band at the beautiful United States Chamber of Commerce building, Hall of Flags room, for the Holleman/Frydman wedding. Several Hollywood movie producers were there, including the composer of the "March of the Penguins" theme, Alex Wurman, who sat in with Steppin' Out and played "All Blues", and several Cole Porter and Gershwin standards. This will be in "Bride to Be" soon....

Scott and the band performed everything from Benny Goodman (Scott on clarinet) to music from "American in Paris", "I Love Paris", La Vie en Rose" in the dinner set. Then the band for the last two hours performed music from the 60's to the 90's and had the dance floor PACKED!

Check our Pricing!!!!       If you got to us and think, "oh, they're too expensive" THINK AGAIN. We know that with DJ's, IPOD users helping their friends out and everything else, we have to be competitive. It is ALWAYS better to have a band at your event, and let us do the DJ'ing on the breaks. Your night deserves  live musicians....Please call at 301/560/4722 (Sally's,she only says leave a message on her machine) or Scott  at 301/871/2909 and talk to us. EMAIL us at------------------------ steppinoutband@comcast.net We are very understanding and know what it's like to be on a budget.

NEW VIDEO--Steppin' Out recently performed their new video LIVE at EKO productions in Long Island NY, did a fantastic job!!!! Remember, almost NONE of the bands that you watch on an agents' sample video are LIVE!! They are all PRE-RECORDED in a studio where they cannot make a mistake. We decided to go record a video and call tunes. Big difference......

Steppin' Out's Scott and Sally and band members are extras in new Matt Damon movie "Syriana"
Hill Herwood puts us in our 2nd movie!
After appearing in Clint Eastwoods "In the Line of Fire", Hill Herwood booked "Steppin'Out" to appear in
Warner Bros. and Section Eight productions "Syriana," a script by Stephen Gaghan that the "Traffic" scribe will direct. George Clooney is also starring.
Scott is the conducting bandleader in a scene with Chris Cooper and Peter Gerety, and Sally is on stage in the band.
In the scene,Peter Gerety (from Homicide and The Wire) is accepting "Oil Man of the Year" award at the Washington D.C. hotel, The Mandarin, Chris Cooper (from "Seabiscuit") and Jeffrey Wright are also in the scene.

The National Association of Postmasters party will be held again in February 2007 at the Hyatt Regency, Washington, D.C.Thank you Dale Goff, sec./treasurer, and we are glad to perform for them again next year.

If you are a client-to be, or a potential client-TAKE NOTE!
you are welcome to visit the band at our weddings or special events, if you dress like the party requires, do not bring more than one or two people, and are prepared to leave, if asked. We are not responsible for security at these parties we play, so if you are NOT recognized as a guest, please just comply...

Bat Mitzvah Party Games should be a mixture of active games for the kids and fun but sit-down games for the adults. I have a couple of great examples for you to use at your next Bat Mitzvah Celebration.

The first Bat Mitzvah game is called, ‘Word Association’ it’s a sit-down game and you’ve probably heard about it being used by doctors and therapists, but you can just use it for a fun activity that can just keep going until you run out of words. Besides you may just learn a little about your guests thought processes.

There are two ways you can play this fun Bat Mitzvah game. You can be the one to call out the words and your player replies with the first word they associate with it. Or for larger groups you can start with a word and the person to your left will call out the first word they associate with that word and the person to their left will call out the word they associate with that word and so on until the word gets back to you. This is just an interesting way to see how much difference there can be between the first word you give out and the words that are associated with it.

The next game is a standing game called, ‘Pass the Bat Mitzvah Parcel’. For it you’ll need music, a good prize and several bags or socks. Place the prize in one bag and place that bag into another and another until you have many layers for your parcel. The bigger your party's group the more layers you are going to need to make it fun.

Have everyone stand in a circle and give the wrapped parcel to one person. Then start the music and have them begin passing the parcel around the group. As soon as you stop the music the person holding the parcel gets to take off a layer. Then start the music up again. Keep this pattern up until the last layer is removed by the lucky winner of the Bat Mitzvah parcel.
